ListGOPH is built on open projects. Here is every one of them, and what it gives us.
A free, open database of packaged food built by volunteers around the world. The names, brands, pack sizes and photographs of most barcoded products in our catalogue come from there. Every one of those products links back to its page on Open Food Facts, so you can check anything we show.
Prices are not theirs and not ours. Every peso figure on this site was reported by a shopper here, and is shown with the number of reports behind it. Products we added ourselves carry no Open Food Facts credit, because there is nothing of theirs in them.
The map of the world underneath every pin on this site, made by people who went and looked. It is also where our nightly sweep finds businesses that are not listed here yet.
The municipal and provincial boundaries behind every town name here. A listing's town is worked out by testing its pin against these polygons on our own server — which is why adding a place never sends your location to anybody else.
Serves the map tiles themselves, free and without a key, from OpenStreetMap data.
Turns a place name into a point on the map when somebody is adding a listing, so the pin lands where the shop actually is.
The library that draws the interactive maps. Open source, BSD-3-Clause.
The forecast on a listing page, when the place is somewhere the weather matters. The wording of a condition is theirs; the icon beside it is ours.
These projects are free to use and mostly run on donations and volunteer time. If ListGOPH is useful to you, they are worth supporting directly — Open Food Facts and OpenStreetMap both take contributions, and both would rather have your corrections than your money.
Several of the sources above are licensed under terms that let anyone use the work for free and ask a single thing in return: that they are named wherever it appears.
So this is not a thank-you note. It is the other half of the bargain, and the reason you can read four thousand product records here without anybody having to pay for them.
